Describe a map

The two blueprints depict the variations made in a central town since 1700.

Overall, apart from the maintenance in the same positions of hotel, market square, church, bridge as well as the main roads, the infrastructure is totally transformed.

Looking at the maps in more detail, the most remarkable change is that fields and most of trees are cut down or relocated to enable renovations. Houses, which were scattered in 1700, are today organisedly constructed in the south-west and the north-east of the town. In addition, in front of supermarket standing a new block of flats, which removes the old stables. The 3 stores along High street in 1700 are now converted into 5 ones in the right-hand corner of the street. Along with discrepancies made to private projects, public constructions, including public park on the riverbank, are erected. To the north of the town, spot where used to be Goode farm is rencently replaced by a car park.

Following the adjustment in public transport, roads are divided into lanes and facilities are modernlised. Specifically, a new roundabout is added at the crossroad among High St, St Perter’s Lane and Market St, which is lengthen to the north of the town. Only in this road is pedestrian crossing placed. Noticeably, Steggle farm demolished making way for the extented Steggle Street, which is newly equiped with traffic lights. There is a two-lane street connecting Market St and Steggle St creates a complete ring road around the central town.
