Could you confirm which one is right between the following sentences? Thank you.

1. The girl, whom authorities say they have yet to locate, described being beaten by her husband and conceiving her first child at the age of 15.
2. The girl, whom authorities say they have yet to locate, was described being beaten by her husband and conceiving her first child at the age of 15.

Well, "described" and "was described" mean different things. In the first case she is describing what happened to her; in the second case someone else is describing what happened to her. (2) is not a very good sentence though.

Well, "described" and "was described" mean different things. In the first case she is describing what happened to her; in the second case someone else is describing what happened to her. (2) is not a very good sentence though. Something with "was described as ..." would be better.
