Both are nouns, but "depth" can also be an adjective, eg, depth charge. (maybe that's a fixed expression)

To me, depth is more likely to be used when talking about physical objects that have a depth (measurement); for example the depth of the ocean). In a metaphorical sense the two forms are both possible (the depth of the mind/the deepness of the mind)
