Depicts or decpicting

I was watching country life on tv with English subtitle. The subtitle wrote "This scene depicting country life" but it should be "This scene depicts country life". Is the two sentences carry the same meaning and can i write both sentences for the same meanings?

"depicts" would be the usual and straightforward way of saying this, assuming there are no contextual surprises. "depicting" does not make a grammatically complete sentence and would be an unusual choice. However, it is not flat out impossible.

GPY is correct in saying that this is not a grammatical sentence. However, I wonder if what you quoted is a fragment.
e.g., "This scene, depicting country life, is the final scene in the documentary."

Well, yes, if it is part of a larger sentence then all bets are off.
