Depends on the duration of A project

Hello!
Quick question.
The sentence:
"Payment and fees will depend on the duration and length of a project".
Is the indefinite article okay here? I am talking to a group of customers and have no specific project in mind.
Thank you.

Yes it's absolutely fine. You can also use the definite article here, which may sound slightly nicer.

"The" is better. You already have a particular project in mind when you describe "payment and fees."

You can use "a" in this case:

A project's total cost will depend on its duration and length.
