Depending / dependent

0 I see a lot of people misusing these words. As a native English speaker, I can't explain the grammar (I'm an engineer) but I know what's right (I hope)!02br

In my view, both sentences should use "depending". Dependent is used as an adjective as:

They still have some dependent children (not yet independent).
