Do you need 2 choices when using 'depending'?
Is Depending followed by 2 choices or just 1 choice?

The doctor will call me depending on the result. [1 choice]
Depending on the result, the doctor will either call me or not. [2 choices]
Depending on the result, the doctor will call me. [1 choice]
Depending on the cost of the phone, I keep it a few years.
Depending on the cost of the phone, I either keep it a few years or months.
Depending on my exam results, I'll get into college.
Depending on my exam results, I'll either get into college or not.
