Thanks. So the use of 'from' is wrong?

Also, why is it the 'dentist's' and not just 'dentist'. It looks like a work should follow after 'dentist's'. Please clarify!

The word 'office' is understood. We often use this short form with various businesses: I've been to the druggist's, the barber's, the chemist's.

You mean if I were to use the word office in that sentence it is understood?

Are there other ways to say that I just finished at the dentist's?

Maybe: with the dentist. Would 'with' work?

Any other suggestions?

No, I mean that we don't use the word 'office' and we understand 'dentist's' to mean 'dentist's office'.

oh I see. I am not a native and that's why I did not understand it. I am guessing in formal writing I would have to use dentist's office. Right?

Also, is it possible to say dentist's clinic, or is office the natural word?

Finally, is this sentence that I wrote correct: I would have to use dentist's office. Is would the right word, or should it be 'will', or both are possible?

I meant in that sentence: I am guessing in formal writing I would have to use 'dentist's office'.

Is the word 'would' in that sentence a correct choice? Can the word 'will' be used instead? is either one correct?
