Dentist /dentist´s

HI!

I have to go to the dentist / dentist´s.

Can I use both of them?

Yes you can but I think that there is a slight difference in meaning. I'm going to the dentist - I have an appointment with the dentist. I'm going to the dentist's - I going to the building where the dentist works.
