Demographic shift

Hi,

I am not sure if an article is required before ‘demographic shift’ in the following sentence.

"These trends are attributable to demographic shift and a low interest rate environment."

Thanks,

MG.

Can this criteria also applied to the 'interest rate environment' and remove the article before it?

I'd use the article here. There are clearly stated trends and this demographic shift is associated with them.

Can this criteria also applied to the 'interest rate environment' and remove the article before it?-- Yes, you can, but with the modification ('low'),the article is more natural.
