Demand/Requirements

Hi,

Just been asked by my students if there is a difference between demands and requirements. Any ideas?

Thanks

"Demands" has an element of WANT, while "Requirements" has a sense of NEED. ) I may DEMAND to see the manager on duty if I am upset over poor customer service, but I may REQUIRE to use the rest room!

"Demands" has an element of WANT, while "Requirements" has a sense of NEED. (I would say that requirements and needs were virtually interchangeable in most contexts, by the way.)

If one is talking about technical conditions/restrictions which are independent of human will/preference, thus neutral, one would normally talk about requirements.

Demands are usually coming from humans
