Can I say "The job I worked for is demanding"? Thank you!

I know that someone is going to add their two cents, however to my American ear and from my mouth I would say it just like this: The job I used to have was so demanding. ) We work for companies not jobs. For example: The company I used to work for was so demanding.

I know that someone is going to add their two cents, however to my American ear and from my mouth I would say it just like this:

The job I used to have was so demanding. (The work demanded energy and effort.)

We work for companies not jobs. For example:

The company I used to work for was so demanding. (The company made demands on me.)
