0 Andrei and Paco -- I think it should really be "people demand THAT the president step down," and in casual (or sloppy) speech people might omit the "that." "Peopel demand the president's resignation" would be okay, but "the president's step-down" does not wsound natural to me. "Demand the president to step down" doesn't sound quite right either. I don't know why they are not parallel, but I
