'demand' or 'demand for'?

Please tell me which verb is better to use:

The company will demand for foodstuffs prices to be changed every nine months.

or

The company will demand foodstuffs prices to be changed every nine months.

Hi Helixa, The latter is more correct in spoken English. If you were using the first sentence, you would probably want to change the "for" to "that", and then drop the "to", like: The company will demand that foodstuffs prices be changed every nine months. " Hope this helps!

You could probably change foodstuffs to just "food."

Hope this helps!
