Delivery - countable/uncountable

Hello! Could you, please, help me? I've found two sentences with 'delivery' in my textbook:

'We want to use this company because their prices are good and they can give us a 12% discount on our orders. They also have a fast delivery - they can deliver in five dayes.'

'Secco Discs can deliver in five days, and fast delivery is important to the buying director.'

I'm really confused about when I should use an indefinite article with 'delivery'. Is it something about more 'general' and more 'particular' meaning? I also wonder in what meanings delivery is countable or uncountable.

Looking forward to your answers.

They also have a fast delivery. I think in this sentence " a fast delivery" means " a fast delivery service " or " a fast delivery option " - something along these lines. That's why the indefinite article appears in the sentence.

  • Whereas in your second example "delivery" merely means "bringing commodities to the customer" and is, of course, an uncountable noun used without an article.

Thanks for your answer! That's similar to what I'm thinking myself. Anyway, the use of articles is quite tricky for me and it seems to me that I can't understand it competely.

If someone has anything to add I'll appreciate your comments.
