Is 'soon' in 'See you soon (as greeting)' an example of deixis?
I heard that when people say 'See you soon', they don't literally mean to see the addressee 'soon' (the word 'soon' doesn't refer to a specific time-Its's like the speaker is just saying 'good bye'?).
I wonder if I can count it as a case of deixis (we don't know the exact time 'soon' refers to, but we know it refers to a time after the utterance time, and we should know the relevant utterance time to interpret it).
