Degree of Comparison Transformations

1. Abdul is as strong as his brother.
Comparative - Abdul is not stronger than his brother.
Superlative - ( I dont know how )

2. Akbar was one of the greatest kings.
Positive - Only a few kings were as great as Akbar.
Comparative - Not many kings were greater than Akbar.

3. Some boys are at least as industrious as Karim.
Comparative - ??
Superlative - ??

4. Very few towns in India are as big as Chennai.
Comparative - Not many towns in India are bigger than Chennai.
Superlative - Chennai is one of the biggest towns in India.

5. No other story book is so popular as the Arabian Nights.
Comparative - No other story book is more popular than the Arabian Nights.
Superlative - The Arabian Nights is the most popular story book.

6. This pony is better than yours.
Position - Your pony is not as good as this pony.
Superlative - ????

7. The airplane flies faster than birds.
Positive - The birds do not fly as fast as the airplane.
Superlative - ?????

8. Some beans are as nutritious as meat.
Comparative - Meat is more nutritious than some beans.

9.It is better to starve than beg.

Can the first one be written like -

Considering Abdul and his brother, any of them could be the strongest.

And in the 6th one be like -

Comparing this pony with your pony, this pony is the best.

Can you somehow use the words 'good' and 'best to compare starving and begging and bring out the same sen

The superlative is used to compare three or more.

Abdul is the strongest of his brothers. (This means more than one brother.)
