Degree of adjectives

Hello,

1. The floods of 1978 were the most destructive.

I have to change the sentence into 'positive degree'.

1a)No floods were as destructive as of 1978.

1b)No floods were as destructive as the floods of 1978.

Which one is the correct?

Thanks.

Yes, please remember that we use slashes in language teaching to present alternatives. I am surprised that after 12 years as a member here, you have never met this convention.

Sir,

I have seen these slashes for the alternatives, but there was some confusion regarding 'the floods/ those' of 1978.

Thanks.

And what was your confusion?

Sir,

My confusion was with 'of 1978' which goes with both the alternatives.

I wanted to confirm whether 'of 1978' will go with both alternatives.

Thanks.

Sir,

1. No other floods were as destructive as the floods of 1978.

2.No floods were as destructive as the floods of 1978.

I wonder whether we can use 'other' as in (1a) and it convey the same meaning.

Thanks.
