Deflected

Is this sentence correct?

"As soon as I looked to him, her deflected his eyes."

And even if this is correct, is this the best verb?

THANK YOU.

You've got "I", "him", "her" and "his" in the same short sentence. I can't tell who is doing what, and it's ungrammatical. " "Deflect" doesn't work with eyes.
