Definition of Dogmatic - Can it apply to a person's tone of speech?

0Can tone of speech, words, etc. of a person be characterized as dogmatic?00 00If so, what is the reasoning behind your answer?02br
02br
00I have a friend who informed me today that tone can not be characterized as dogmatic because "dogmatic refers to principles or written rules and not people or their traits etc"00 using it (the word dogmatic) as an adjective is possible02br
00 BUT not to refer to tone02br

10 It would appear to me that someone through the tone of their words, speech, etc can be characterized as dogmatic. But hey, I could surely be wrong, so if someone has an answer to this, any comments would be greatly appreciated!! 0250hrefhttp://encarta.msn.com/encnet/featur...fid=1861720787251hrefhttp://www.hearts-ease.org/cgi-bin/t...brary&letter=t242hrefhttps://secure.reference.com/premium/login.html?rd=2&u=http%3A%2F%2Fdictionary.reference.com%2Fsearch%3Fq%3Ddogmatic%26r%3D66c (missing image) 243hrefhttp://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=dictatorialcdictatorial244hrefhttps://secure.reference.com/premium/login.html?rd=2&u=http%3A%2F%2Fdictionary.reference.com%2Fsearch%3Fq%3Ddictatorialc (missing image)

0Hi guys,02br
02br
00My dictionary gives a couple of meanings of 'dogma', of which one is 'an 01i00arrogant02i00 declaration of opinion'. I think that tone and body language can well be part of displaying 01i00arrogance02i00, so in that sense I think the answer to the question is 'yes'. 02br
