Definition of "affairs of the heart"

Hi,

Can I refer feelings in general as "affairs of the heart"?
Ex:
1. Feelings are hard to manage because sometimes they are a little bit illogical.
2. Affairs of the heart are hard to manage because sometimes they are a little bit illogical.

Feelings cover a very wide range of emotions. You could be sad because your puppy got hurt or you could be angry because someone stole a dollar out of your pocket. How about feeling happy because you got a good grade on a report.
