Definition of "a-comin' down"?

A radio broadcaster is talking about the snow and then he says "Oh, man. The white stuff is a-comin' down."
I think that he means the snow is beautiful, he likes the snow. Am I correct? I've already searched in the dictionary and I didn't find a better explanation.

Thanks in advance.
