Definite or indefinite article?

Hi. Please help. I have a word like "fever" which is countable and you put the words like "World Cup" before it. Then should we put the definite article "the" or the indefinite article "a" before the phrase "World Cup"?

I have a (the?) World Cup fever.

Also, can you tell me why different articles are used here? Thank you in advance for your help.
