Defining and Non-defining relative clause.

Hi,
I'm just confused about joining these two sentences,which one is correct:
1-TV sitcoms include actors and actresses.
2-They are recognized by television viewers around the world.
Is that:
a) TV sitcoms include actors and actresses who are recognized by television viewers around the world.
or
b)TV sitcoms, which are recognized by television viewers around the world, include actors and actresses.
