Defeat, prevail, triumph...etc, which one should I use in this?

I want to phrase something similar to the following line, and it is going to be published in a daily blog of a formal community website:
"The stage triumph (or triumphes ) over political censorship" what could be the best way possible to phrase it in a very bold and formal way? i'm having a problem with the word "stage" (referring to the place where Shakespeare's novels are performed) and the word "triumph" being the best choice for this particular sentence. Thank you.
