Dedicating a book..

Dear friends and teachers,
I'm going to present my friend a gift which is a book and I like to dedicate at the begining of the book. Could you please guide me how to dedicate as people usually do.
Thank you so much

(By the way, it is only authors who dedicate books to people; the word you are looking for is "inscribe".)

Start by thinking about why you are giving them the book. What do you hope they will gain from reading it? What thoughts do you want them to have of you when they read it?

I wrote this in a book I gave this Christmas:

Dear Becky,

I hope you have as much fun reading this book as I did when I was your age. It was one of my favorites. Enjoy!

Love,

Mom

Hello Anon,

You could write:

To X and Y,

With best wishes,

Anon.
