Dedicated to your students, to your company

(1) You are very dedicated to your company.

(2) The teacher is very dedicated to his students.

Two days ago, one of my non-native English speaking friends made up these sentences. We spent time discussing them. We think (1) is correct and (2) is wrong because you can dedicate yourself to something but not to someone.


What is your opinion? Thanks a lot.
