Decorating

Can I say,

(a) They are decorating a Christmas tree.

(b) They are decorating adornments on a christmas tree.

Top answer

Vincent Teo (a) They are decorating a Christmas tree. (b) They adorning a christmas tree. Since adornment is a process of jazzing up, I guess the verb will suit better in your second example.

I think Vincent is also confusing adornment and ornament.

They are decorating the Christmas tree with ornaments.
