Did you mean "income statement" rather than balance sheet.

On an income statment there might be decommissioning costs. XYZ Corp closed a plant. Decommissioning Costs are X dollars. That is an expense item.

If it is on the balance sheet, can you say where? Assets or liabilities. And there is likely a note associated with it. Look in the notes section that
