The older generations tend to have very traditional ideas about how people should live, think and behave. However, some people believe that these ideas are not helpful in preparing younger generations for modern life.

To what extent do you agree or disagree with this view?

It is true that young generations could be beneficial the lessons in the past which was accumulated by the elderly people. While some people believe that these experiences become obsolete for people who are living in modern life. In my opinion, I agree that some traditional ideas should be maintained and some depraved perspectives should be got rid of.

On the one hand, in recent years there are several ideas that gained from the past events throughout the history of humanity have been becoming less relevant with the circumstantial realities. First, experiencing the life of marriage before official ceremony was considered as the deterioration of long-lasting traditional values in previous years. However, the rate of divorce nowadays is increasing because of the popularity of infertility. Having sexual activities before getting marriage is necessary to solve this social problems. Second, the roles of men and women such as breadwinners and housewives, are becoming out of date in civilized societies.

On the other hand, many of ideas that elderly people have about life are still necessary in the modern world. As the development of economy of many nations, young people have had to put at risks with the changes of job market which are becoming more competitive and requiring higher qualifications, so that learning a profession, doing one's best and taking a pride in one's work could be seen as an effective way to secure a stable life. In the globalized age, young workers are required to socialize with people from a huge variety of backgrounds, and it is important that treating nobilities with respect and politeness.

In conclusion, it could be wrong if the views of old people are taken for granted with thoughtless, we should secure those traditional ideas as the valuable treasures.
