Discuss both these views and give your opinion.

The issue of the importance of curricula at school causes many heated debates. Several people hold the belief that History is indispensable, whereas others hold the perception that disciplines such as Science and Technology are more crucial than History in the contemporary world. This essay will give a profound analysis of both views and outline the latter view to be more convincing.

In terms of the first opinion, broadening the horizon of cultures may be an initial reason. People studying History will probably build up their cultural awareness. Only by perusing historical events of various nations, could people understand a wide range of cultures. For example, learning History of the United States, people might understand the formation of the diversified culture in the United States. However, nowadays, with a boom of technology, people are able to access historical information and discover various cultures via internet without studying History.

Regarding the second perspective, high job prospect may be the first reason supporting this point of view. Currently, governments are strengthening the fourth evolution which science and technology have been playing a key role. It means students studying Science and Technology are less likely to struggle to seek job after graduation because they have been already provided with targeted knowledge and they can satisfy a variety of requirements from strict head hunters and recruiters. In addition, discovering the universe, which needs to be applied state-of-the-art technologies and sciences, might be the second reason to support this view. As a matter of fact, people have been facing a lack of land on Earth when the land on the Earth is limited, together with an exploration in population in recent years. Besides, in light of global warming, ice is melting rapidly and contributing significantly to submerging continents. Therefore, space discovery seems to be imperative because colonizing to another planet is not a far-off outlook. Because of this, Science and Technology should be focused at school or university which will be premises of researching cosmology later.

In conclusion, it is apparent to see from the arguments above that there are compelling reasons to support both sides. Personally, I can see the first view, but I am in favor of the second perspective because its benefits outweigh the advantages of the first view.
