Some people believe that school children should not be given homework by their teachers, whereas others argue that homework plays an important role in education of children. Discuss both of these views and give your own opinion.
After years, education has more and more important place in life and people have many dissenting opinions on it. Some people said that teachers should not give homework for their students, while the opposite is true for the others. Whereas people have a lot of different opinions, I would argue that students should not have too much homework.
On the other hand, we can not deny the profit that schoolwork has brought us. Firstly , student can have more chance to practice at home and deepening their knowledge. For example, student just spend about four to five hours a day at school so that they do not have enough time to do their exercise skillfully. Because of that reason, assignments can help them to practice at home by themselves. Besides that, difficult homework which is given by teachers plays a great role in student’s broaden horizons and potential.
On the other hand, I believe that teacher should not give too much schoolwork. The main reason that schoolchild will live under pressure and the country which curriculum is really heavy for learner is VietNam. In VietNam, students have to study more theory than practical knowledge so that students have a large volume of excercises. Not only can schoolwork bring for students pressure but also many disadvantages such as health problem. For instance, students who have a lot of homework to do usually burn the midnight oil lead to do not have enough time to sleep and passed out at school. Another reason is there are many survey show that do not need too much homework but schoolchild still have a great result in education like students in Poland, Singapore, Australia or America and so on.
In conclusion, although both views certainly have some validity, it seems to me that it is better not to give too much assignments for students.
