The first bar chart compares the Americans in terms of the amount of marriages and divorces over the period of 30 years, from 1970 to 2000. The latter chart,however, indicates the proportions of different statues of marriage among the USA adult residents in two years.
It is clear that the number of Americans getting marriage oviously outweighted those getting divorced during the time given. Also, the rate of the married status in the USA was by far the most highest in comparison with the other statues.
In 1970, about 2.5 millions marriages took place in USA, overwhelmingly accounting for 70 percent of marital statues in America although there was only 1 millions the people that getting divorces. This could be explained by just around 1% of adults in the United States choosing the way of divorce. In this year, the proportion of people in America that never married reached almost 15 %, almost doubling the rate of those having their partner died.
By 2000, the figures for overall marriages in USA experienced a slight decrease , standing at 2 millions while the Americans who divorced remained the same in the number regardless of their suddenly marginal rise by around 4 hundreds in 1980. In the same year, the proportion of widowed and married statues kept unconsiderably lower than the figure in 1970. By contrast, a insignificant rise can be seen in the percentage of USA adults that do not favor in marriage for the whole life and those who got divorced statues.
