Dear Sir or Madam,

I would like to apply for an internship in the *** to spend at least two months getting work experience in the domain of the Corporate Social Responsibility.

I am a twenty-two year old student at the University of Economics in ***, Poland, where I am studying “Capital Investments and Financial Strategies of Enterprises” in my eighth semester. This semester, thanks to the European Programme Socrates/Erasmus, I am doing my studies abroad and currently I am studying Finance at the University *** in France.

The studies at the University *** are in French so at the moment I am improving my French language skills and contacting with a different culture, mentality and way of life. Polish is my native language. I am sure that my English is already fluent and I would like to refresh the speaking ability by using English every day.

Bearing in mind to work in the domain of CSR after graduating from university, I would like to take the opportunity to gain work experience in ***. The intent – to develope the idea of Corporate Social Responsibility in Poland – came up during my studies in France where I noticed an enormous difference between social responsibility of enterprises in France and in Poland. In Poland the topic of Corporate Social Responsibility seems to be new and at the moment there is no methodology which could be applied to analyze company policies and performances in the field of CSR.

*** is a great challenge for me. The main reason that makes me want to have an internship in *** is that I want to find out as much as possible about The *** Research Methodology. I am highly interested in the problem of Socially Responsible Investing in general and in The *** Research Model in particular. I would like to find out how this methodology works and verify if it would be possible to adapt the *** Research Methodology to Polish companies.

During my studies I have already had some internships that helped me to enhance my theoretical knowledge with practical experience. I completed my most important internship in a consulting company in Poland (***) where I learned how to work as a part of a team in a big project financed by European Aid (Phare 2001).
I was responsible for Subproject 2 and a part of Subproject 3 in the “Promotion of Employment and Human Resources Development” project. In Subproject 2 my task was not only to organize training courses for unemployed people who wanted to start up their own business but also to advise them where they could find financial support.
Subproject 3 was designed for small and medium-sized enterprises that wanted to broaden the skills of its workforce. In this component I had an opportunity to be in contact with many employers and workers. Moreover that was a precious experience which let me know the reality of functioning small and medium-sized enterprises on the Polish market.
Thanks to14 months of work in the project I was able to obtain experience in being responsible for a certain task and to organize anything in order to make it successful. Furthermore to reach my goal I needed the cooperation and participation of my co-workers that were essential to complete my job. This enhanced my skills in communication, leading as well as to solving problems and organizing.

I have not only experienced working in particular projects like “Promotion of Employment and Human Resources Development” but I have also helped enterprises which wanted to obtain European Aid from “Sectoral Operational Programme - Improvement of the Competitiveness of Enterprises”. In general I was responsible for preparing the Feasibility Studies and other documents required by the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development. I am very interested in European Aid Programmes which are at the moment available in Poland. My knowledge about European Aid in Poland is imposing because I know both - the theoretical guidelines and how it works in practice – from the SME’s point of view.

I would have already helped Polish enterprises but I received an opportunity to spend my eighth semester of studies at the University ***. While studying in France I am in contact with people different nationalities. I realized that getting to know and experience other cultures personally are very important stages to develop my personality and broaden my horizons. That is why I hope this internship in *** in Belgium would be a great opportunity to continue developing my personality and getting in contact with many interesting people. Of course, for me the most important thing would be to gain professional knowledge and experience in the domain of Corporate Social Responsibility.

With my firm academic background as well as a solid track record of work experience I am sure *** will benefit from my knowledge, experience and abilities.
