Letter Writing

Dear .... ???

Hi, everybody!

I've a question concerning the beginning of a letter. If I only know the name of the person, but don't know her or him very good, how should I start?

with
Dear Jennifer Houston,

or
Dear Ms. (Mrs.?) Houston,

or
Dear Ms. (Mrs.?) Jennifer Houston,

or
Dear Jennifer
(although I don't know her very good!)

???

Thanks for all help,
Gerald

According to my experience, 'Dear Ms. ' is the best variant, especially if you don't know her well and don't know whether she is married.
