Can you use Dead like this:

The month of august is dead in the city.

The city is dead in August.

The hotel is dead in August.

Can you use "dead" like this?

The month of August is dead in the city. [N] I wouldn't say this. The month is not dead; the city is dead.

The city is dead in August. [Y]

The hotel is dead in August. [Y]

Here "dead" means very 'quiet', 'nothing' happening.
