Day or daytime?

Hi, all.

He wakes up, disoriented. He looks at his watch then out the window. It's day now. He must have fallen asleep and slept the whole night.

Should I change "day" to "daytime" or is it fine as it is?

Works, but "daylight" would be more fluid.
