Date and time question

Hi,

I've another question. Where do you put the date or time? For example, which one is correct?:

1. Last night, Britney Spears attended the American Music Awards in Los Angeles, California.

2. Britney Spears attended the American Music Awards in Los Angeles, California last night.

3. Britney Spears attended the American Music Awards last night in Los Angeles, California.

And this one?:

1. Britney Spears attended the American Music Awards on June 13, 2011 in Los Angeles, California.

2. Britney Spears attended the American Music Awards in Los Angeles, California on June 13, 2011.

Top answer

But for punctuation all are acceptable. 2) Britney Spears attended the American Music Awards in Los Angeles, California , last night 2) Britney Spears attended the American Music Awards in Los Angeles, California , on June 13, 2011. You could drop the comma after Last night in the first one (of three), or leave it in.

  • But for punctuation all are acceptable.
  • 2) Britney Spears attended the American Music Awards in Los Angeles, California , last night 2) Britney Spears attended the American Music Awards in Los Angeles, California , on June 13, 2011.
  • You could drop the comma after Last night in the first one (of three), or leave it in.
  • If you want to add the pause, leave it in.
  • Personally I would not use the second of both examples (the ones that needed the extra comma).
