Hello,

1. We are celebrating a festival on 02 January.

2. We are celebrating a festival on the 02 January.

3. We are celebrating a festival on the 02nd January.

I want to know the usage of a definite article "the" with dates.

when do we use "the" before date?

Could any one here explain it?

In British English, we write: on 2 January, on 2nd January, on January 2nd; We say : On January the second, on the second of January.

In the similar way, we can write it

1. on 15th January

or

on the 15th January

I think as you have mentioned "on 15th January" is correct?

Am I right?

or
On the 15th of January

We do not normally write 'the' in dates in BrE.
