DATA pronunciation

Is there a "correct" way to use the two pronunciations of DATA- dey- tuh and dah- tuh? I have always thought they were interchangeable.

...and to make matters worse, I think, there is daa-ta also. daa pronounces with fa in father.

if you are working in IT or in software field, use "day", flapped t, sounding like "day-da".
