Is it okay to use dashes to set off parenthetical information like job titles? I'm told yes, and I'm confirming here. Instead of parens and a plethora of cumbersome commas, I think the spaced em dashes work well, do you? It's a very easy, smooth read. Indicate if you agree or disagree.

On Tuesday, June 1, 2011, at 6.12 pm, Joe Blow — marketing director for the XYZ Corporation — informed me, Jane Gobbledygook — vice president of store operations — of an incident involving embezzlement ....
