Dash vs no dash after "anti"

hello teachers.,
why there is dash for anti-inflammatory?? and why not for antibiotic?? please explain.. smdl

Because of the vowels between the words. In Englsih we can't handle vowel clusters and as anti-inflammatory ends the first word in i and starts the second in i we wouldn't be able to pronuonce it as a single word.

Do use a hyphen with prefixes ending in a or i and a base word beginning with the same letter. Example - anti-inflammatory.

Antiinflammatory - Wrong.
Anti-inflammatory - Right ( The last letter of prefix is "I" and the first letter of next wor
