Dash and interjections

Some may disregard you for using such practices in formal or academic situations, personally, I believe it is completely fine to start a sentence with a conjunction.

Does this require a conjunction: as in ,but personally, I believe....

You can't just have an interjected word mid sentence--right.

The phrase 'it refers to Adam and the temptation' is a poor one - the phrase should be 'it refers to the tempting of Adam'.

Can this dash replace a conjunction.

With this in mind, the dash can link related independent clauses. It's confusing because some style guides say you can and others don't recommend it.

With this in mind, the dash can link related independent clauses. It's confusing because some style guides say you can and others don't recommend it. I rather disapprove of dashes. They are often a sign that the writer doesn't want to take the time to structure his sentences carefully. I feel that learners of English should become very good with conjunctions, proper punctuation and sentence structure before they even think of dashes.
