Dash

Hi,

"This [criticism] is aimed at government," he said. "I blame the system – not schools– for doing what they are told."

I think the second dash should be crossed out because he does not blame the schools for doing what they are told. "Schools" is the antecedent of "they", right?

Thanks in advance

I concur. 'I blame the system for doing what they are told' just doesn't make any sense.
