Daring - what's the meaning?

Hello. My friend sent me picture holding snake. I was looking for a proper word to call his bravery and I found the word 'daring' but I'm not sure of its meaning. Is it possitve or negative? I wouldn't want to sound offensive. Is it better to say some safe word like 'brave'?

  • anonymous My friend sent me picture holding snake.
  • " anonymous I was looking for a proper word to call his bravery and I found the word 'daring' but I'm not sure of its meaning.
  • " anonymous Is it possitve or negative?
  • " "Daring" is perfect.
  • It implies that he enjoys doing dangerous things, which could be thought stupid, I suppose, but he is your friend, and you are exaggerating already by calling him brave because I am sure the snake is a harmless one.
