Can I say,

It is a horror movie. I dare not (to) watch it for I will get frighten.

I guess it this way.

It is a horror movie. I dare not watch it because I will get frightened. (I haven't got guts to watch it).

It is a horror movie. I don't dare to watch it because I will get frightened. (I have no courage to watch it).
