I'd like to understand if dangling modifiers have to be placed at the begining of a sentence. Thanks.

For example: Hanging in the back of her closet, Tara had forgotten about the blue cocktail. (I quoted from one of GG's sentences, I hope she don't mind)

It's my favorite dangling particple example, so use it as often as you want!

The first one would read much better as Tara had forgotten about the blue cocktail that was hanging in the back of her closet.

The second one is just awkward. Writing it as Avangi has suggested is much better.
