Dangling

Hi,
My question is about dangling. Is there dangling in the following sentence? If yes, how it can be corrected?

To estimate vehicle crash rate of the current year, the crash rate of the previous year is considered as the reference.

Top answer

No, there is nothing dangling. I suggest a couple of other small changes: To estimate the vehicle crash rate for the current year, the crash rate from the previous year is used as a reference. The sentence does not itself exactly explain how this "reference" is used.

  • I assume that is elaborated elsewhere.

farshidghThank you fro your reply I agree with you about all you have mentioned. However, what is the subject of estimate? I think it is "he" (not mentioned because of passive voice), but from the sentence I say " the crash rate", so it is dangling because it is impossible that " the crash rate" estimates something (?). Is this argument wrong?I would appreciate if you cou
