Dancing / to dance

Hello,

"I don't like dancing"

How can we realize either "dancing" in the above sentence is a 'noun' or a 'verb'?

Thanks.

Try putting some words that you know are nouns in the position "I don't like ~". Do they fit? Do they seem to have the same relationship with "I don't like" as "dancing" does in the original?
