Which of the following can be used in the sentence above.

(i) use to cycle

(ii) rarely cycled

(iii) would cycle

(iv) never cycled

Choose one answer.

a. (iii) only

b. (i) and (iii)

c. (i), (iii) and (iv)

i think (iii) is wrong. so the answer will go to D. Am I right?

Hi, No. (iii) would work in the sentence. The reason (ii) won't work is the same reason (iv) would not work; you wouldn't say that someone rarely did something everyday , just like you wouldn't with never .

It is okay though to say that someone would cycle everyday or that they used to cycle everyday... however, unless it was a typing mistake, (i)
